EC-600 Saw Service & Maintenance Instructions

Operation:

The tool is designed to operate on 90 PSI air pressure using a 3/8 inch hose up to 8 feet in length. If additional hose is required, a 1/2 inch or larger hose should be connected to the 3/8 inch hose.

Lubrication:

An automatic in-line filter-lubrication is highly recommended to increase tool life as well as keeping the tool in sustained operation. If in-line lubrication is not used, the tool should be lubricated several times daily by disconnecting the air hose and pouring a few drops of a good grade of No. 10W machine oil into the air inlet.

The angle head should be greased every forty (40) hours of operation with a good grade of grease, using a low pressure grease gun.

Disassembly:

  • To disassemble the tool:

    • Clamp tool in a soft-jawed vise and unscrew
(left hand threads) the gear housing EC 4354
from the motor housing EC 9973.

    • Unscrew the throttle body EC 8720.

  • To disassemble the gear housing EC 4354:

    • Pull out the bevel gear with the attached bearing
      EC 4471.

    • Removing the bearing cap retainer ring EC 4164
will allow the cutter shaft and attached components
to be pressed out the rear of the gear housing.

    • Unscrew the lock nut EC 9993 and remove the bearing
EC 9992, spacer EC 9976, gear key EC 3365, and
bearing EC 9991 from the cutter shaft EC 9977.

    • Note: To unscrew or tighten the arbor bolt EC 9996,
remove 1/4-28 button head cap screw and insert a
3/16 inch hex allen wrench into the opening in the
bearing cap EC 9974 to reach the internal hex in the
end of the cutter shaft EC 9977.

  • To disassemble the motor unit:
    • Remove the retainer ring EC 7709 from the rotor
shaft EC 9971 and gently slip the complete motor
unit out the rear of the motor housing EC 9973.

    • Remove the retainer ring EC 4227 and the nylon
bearing cap EC 4226 from the rear bearing plate
      EC 3237.

    • Clamp the cylinder EC 3225 in the vise with spline
end of the rotor shaft down.

    • Using a suitable driver, drive the rotor shaft out of
      the rear rotor bearing.

    • All of the motor unit parts may now be removed
      from the rotor shaft.

    • Unscrew the inlet bushing EC 3102 to remove the
air screen EC 3110 for cleaning and inspection.

Saw Tightening Blade Instructions:
